Rustic Retreat, Haryana

This interior renovation/ up-gradation of a guesthouse near the Hatni Kund barrage demanded a very unique approach in terms of materials, artwork & furniture as it was a rustic jungle house. The use of rustic, live-edge wooden furniture was carefully balanced with softer elements to create this charming jungle house. The double-height sitting area is the heart of the house and the place where the family and friends spend most of their time together, whenever they visit. Even though there were no civil changes made to the space, simple changes in flooring, wall colours, and the addition of new furniture and artwork make the space vibrant and full of life. Further, carefully chosen artwork in wood & rustic lights binds the whole theme together. We learned a lot during the execution of this project on achieving the right balance of wooden and soft elements to create an overall rustic yet chic feel for the space. Most of the wooden furniture, lighting fixtures, and some artwork in wood were custom designed and manufactured by LSDA. Overall, the interiors have a perfect blend of rustic, wooden elements and the comforts of a holiday home. And who cannot enjoy a lovely winter evening sitting beside a fireplace, coiled up in a throw reading a book !!
